In this line, he subtly reflects how rappers and even comic book superheroes are treated as the “New gods”. Solomon himself said there is nothing new under the sun. In the Ancient world, the gods reflected a variety of symbols and cultural ideals. Text, artifacts, and even temples were made for them. Though these gods may not be worshiped any more, in our 21st century postmodern culture these ideas have taken on new forms. The modern media of our day have become our "New Gods". This body of work attempts to take the historic and Contemporary, merging them into a seamless narrative.
