Old Nations

In the second part of Old Gods, Old nations focus on confrontation. To a point where we can trace progress in society based on advances in warfare. It suggests the way things change and stay the same throughout the history of the world. But even through the conflict, the change in color towards the end of the series suggests hope.

Though sharing formal similarity with the Old Gods narrative work, there is way more mark making and aggression on the surface. There is heavier inconsistency within the form of these paintings than the Old gods variants. However, the last piece creates a hopefulness, seeing the color blue is an ideal of order and fantasy amidst the way things have fallen.
